Video can improve the in-person brand experience you create.

Video for in-person events

It’s easy to see where video can improve the digital experience for your customers.

Post video to your website, Facebook page, YouTube channel, Instagram, and Tik-Tok.

But video can also pack a powerful punch when it’s integrated into your in-person events.

Connexus Church is based in Barrie, Ontario with campus churches in Orillia and Midland. They also have a good-sized online following, with around 5,000 online interactions with their messages each week.

Over the years, the Connexus Church leadership team has hired us to produce video content to help boost interest in upcoming message series and to create an intro each week.

The team at Connexus gave us a brief outline of what they were looking for and we storyboarded, pre-produced, shot and edited this video intro.

Create a character

With these message series intros, we’ll typically create a main character or set of characters to help breathe life into the concept.

People are drawn to people.

When we watch narrative videos like this one, in some ways we’re looking for ourselves in the story.

This is what makes story so powerful.

These are the first two videos in a series we produced for Connexus. If you want to see the rest, you can check out part 03, part 04, part 05, and part 06.

Combine creative elements to create whole.

Writing & Storyboarding

Storyline based projects, like the intro videos we create for Connexus Church, rely heavily on creative storytelling. We start with a basic theme, provided by the Connexus team and from there we toss ideas around on entertaining ways we can communicate the theme. Once we've found our theme, we script the entire series and begin pre-production.

Pre-Production

Every good story needs characters. We work hard, once we've sorted out a basic storyline, to find the people who will really embody the characters we've imagined. Locations are often just as important as characters, and we often pour as much energy into finding the right location for the story as we do in finding the right people.

Production

Once we've had the final script approved, and our actors and locations are lined up, we start the filming. And this is where we get to see the fruits of our labour come to life on screen.

Post-production

It's amazing to see how much of a solid story comes down to good editing. Choosing what to show when - changing small aspects of the story - adding music and sound design are all an important piece of the overall picture.
